UNICS-Juniors: to the final round from 1st place in the group

UNICS juniors won 4 out of 5 matches in the 3rd round of the Semi-final round of the XXIII Russian Under-19 Basketball Championship, the matches of which were held in Moscow.

On the court of the Timiryazevskaya SHOR, the Kazan team led by Oliver POPOVIC consistently beat Zenit-Kalininskaya from St. Petersburg (93:72), NN-3 FOK Meshchersky from Nizhny Novgorod (71:70), Moscow UOR No.4 named after A.Ya. Gomelsky (79:51) and Severbasket from the Murmansk region (80:50).

The only defeat that UNICS-Juniors suffered on the last game day from the capital's MBA-Dynamo with a score of 66:76 did not prevent our guys from taking the top spot in the B3 group.

In the opening match against Zenit-Kalininskaya (93:72), Daniil DUBOVOY became the best player, scoring 22 points and adding 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Nikita PAVLOV scored a double-double of 18 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists. Ilnar Farkhutdinov brought the white and green 17 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Alexey KOZHEMYAKIN collected 16 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Timur ALLAYAROV scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.

In the game against NN-3 FOK Meshchersky (71:70), Daniil DUBOVOY became the best sniper of the white-greens again, scoring 25 points and adding 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Ilnar FARKHUTDINOV brought 13 more points with 6 rebounds to the UNICS juniors.

Kazan owes the victory over the A.Ya. Gomelsky UOR No. 4 (79:51) to the productive game of Timur ALLAYAROV, who scored a double-double of 16 points, 12 rebounds, 2 steals and assists, as well as Nikita PAVLOV, who had a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. Ilnar FARKHUTDINOV brought the Kazan team 14 points, 6 assists and 2 rebounds.

In a match with their peers from Severbasket (80:50), four Kazan junior basketball players scored double–digit points - Daniil DUBOVOY (19 + 4 rebounds + 4 assists + 2 steals), Alexey KOZHEMYAKIN (18 + 4 rebounds + 2 steals), Vladislav DERZHAVIN (12 + 6 rebounds) and Nikita PAVLOV (12 + 5 rebounds).

The final round of the Junior Basketball League Championship is scheduled for April 22-28, 2024. The venue will be determined later.
