The busy schedule with 3 matches in 7 days did not pass without a trace for UNICS. Velimir Perasovic's team scored 93 points in an away game and showed a high percentage of shots from behind the arc - 48% (11/23 three–pointers), but this was not enough to win a super-resultative match over Samara. The white-greens tired in the final quarter and suffered their first defeat of the new season – 93:104.

Samara (Samara) – UNICS (Kazan) – 104:93 (23:21, 25:29, 28:24, 28:19).
UNICS: Labeyrie (18 + 7 assists + 5 rebounds), Reynolds (15 + 7 rebounds), D.Kulagin (15 + 4 assists), Dimitrijevic (14 + 6 assists), Green (13).
Samara: Hawkins (21 + 6 rebounds), Roberson (19), Thompson (18 + 14 rebounds), M.Kulagin (13 + 5 assists).

POST-MATCH COMMENTS:

Velimir PERASOVIC, BC UNICS head coach:

«Congratulations to Samara with a well-deserved victory. They played much better than us today. They had a lot more energy. In the final quarter, their desire to fight for every ball and superiority under the boards, especially under offensive, predetermined the result of the match. We played softly, so it's not surprising that we lost».

Dmitry KULAGIN, BC UNICS guard:

«Congratulations to Samara on the victory. They demonstrated high-quality team basketball and surpassed us under the boards. As for us we did not show our best game – we experienced big problems in defense and made mistakes. Samara acted more aggressively than us on both sides of the court, which probably became a key factor in their victory».
