The Belgian national team, for which UNICS center Ismael Bako plays, won a sensational victory with a score of 58:53 over the reigning European champion Spain in the 2nd round of Eurobasket 2025 qualification.

Bako scored 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocked shots, an assist and a steal in 26:41 minutes of playing time. In addition, the 28-year-old UNICS center became the best player of the match in terms of plus/minus (+11) and the second in terms of efficiency (12).

Earlier, on February 22, in the game of the opening round of the qualification of the 2025 European Championship, the Belgians defeated the Slovak national team (75:60). Bako scored 2 points and 4 rebounds in almost 15 minutes on the court.
