Marco Spissu Is A New UNICS Playmaker

UNICS signed the 26-year-old point guard of the Italy National Team Marco SPISSU (184 cm, 80 kg) to a 1+1 deal.

The newcomer of our club competed for the Italian side Dinamo Sassari for the previous 4 seasons and helped them to win the FIBA Europe Cup in 2019. In 10 games of the 2020-21 Basketball Champions League his average statistics were 11.6 points (49% from the arc), 3.7 rebounds & 6.8 assists in 31.6 minutes played. The playmaker also took part in 32 games of the 2020-21 Italian Series A averaging 12.7 points (42% of three-pointers), 3.7 rebounds & 5.4 assists in 30.3 minutes on the floor. In 2017, Spissu led Virtus from Bologna to the Italian Cup trophy & was named the MVP of the competition.

This summer, Marco competed for Italy at the Olympic Basketball Tournament in Tokyo. The guard spent 9 games in total for his national team averaging 9.1 points, 5.7 assists, 2.6 rebounds in 23.6 minutes played.

It should be noted that Spissu will become the first Italian basketball player in the UNICS history.
