After the long road, half a day of flights through all the Europe, UNICS got finally to the land of the Basques with the hope to take the revenge in Euroleague from Baskonia team. Do you remember one point at the last seconds in Baskethall 91:92 on the 15th of December…?

The first time the Kazan team had to play… at the market. Fernando Buesa Arena where Baskonia plays was built initially in the 70-s as the market for the cattle. In 1991 the arena was reconstructed to the sport stadium for 15 000 people. For the city of 231 661 people it is a very big arena. There were 10 645 people that came for the game for UNICS.

As we found out before the game UNICS deregistered  Kostas Kaimakoglou and registered Coty Clarke. He was on  the court in the middle of the first quarter. The first  2 minutes and a half  Baskonia scored only 4 points, the rebounds were 10-4 for the home team.

They guarded Keith Langford so that he could not score. The defense of UNICS was weak and Baskonia scored from the outside 46:26 at 3.30 till the break.

In the last half UNICS rebounded better 28-27, but defense was still bad and soon the score became 82:51. We will make the conclusions.

Baskonia (Vitoria, Spain)-UNICS (Kazan, Russia)-102:70 (25:15, 28:21, 24:14, 25:20). Most efficient: Vittoria- Bobua (29), Foygtman (14), UNICS- Langford (19), Parakhouski (13), Stoll (11).
